About Dr. William Boothe

Dr. Boothe is a leading cornea specialist in the field of refractive surgery. Through his lifelong commitment to improving quality of life for his patients, Dr. Boothe has sharpened vision for thousands upon thousands of people in the state of Texas and beyond. To date, he has performed more than 71,000 INTRALASIK surgeries and more than 116,000 LASIK surgeries, making him the most experienced and trusted LASIK surgeon in Plano, Texas (north of Dallas), and among the most outstanding surgeons in the world.

Since opening for business in 1987, Dr. Boothe has transformed his office, Boothe Eye Care and Laser Center, into the standard of care for vision centers across the world. The sheer number of patients who have come to his Lasik center in Plano, Texas, speaks volumes about the depth of his experience and the enormous success he has had in restoring his patients’ eyesight. Dr. Boothe’s patients have a very low level of complaints and usually express immense satisfaction in their reviews of their experiences at the vision center. Dr. Boothe’s promise of excellence to his patients rests on his belief in the power of technology to improve vision. Pioneering the use of laser technologies since their major breakthrough in the early 1990s, Dr. Boothe was the first cornea specialist in the Dallas, Texas, area to use the Excimer laser technology in refractive surgery. He was also one of the first specialists in the country to use a “microkeratome,” a device that allows a surgeon to create and lift the corneal flap (no longer in use, now he offers all laser Lasik). A true leader in the field of refractive surgery, Dr. William Boothe continues to push boundaries on the latest technologies. Dr. William Boothe attended Rice University as an undergraduate and earned his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency at Texas Tech University School of Ophthalmology, followed by a cornea fellowship at Jules Stein Eye Institute (University of California Los Angeles Medical School) where he specialized in refractive surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and was named VISX Surgeon of the Year in 1999.
